Strobel Design Build recently won first place at the National Association of the Remodeling Industry CotY Awards 2020 in the category of Residential Exterior over $200,000. When starting this project, our client wanted an update to their 1960’s home that would allow for the expansive water views to be seen. Prior to Strobel Design Build’s help, these waterfront views were hidden behind an old pool cage and low roof line.
Mike Zgrabik, Senior Project Manager, played an essential role in this extensive exterior renovation, which is why we were honored to have him accept this award on the behalf of Strobel Design Build. This was Mike’s first project with the Strobel Design Build team, and he was effectively able to capture the essence of the project. Through effective communication, Mike was able to provide the client with exactly what they envisioned, even with the added challenge of the client living out of state.
Addressing the client’s needs, the Strobel Design Build team went to work right away. A new Mansard roof was added to the rear of the house, offering a grand outdoor living space while also creating an aesthetically pleasing view of the brand new clay tile roof from the water. A much-needed update was given to the front entrance of the home, and in order to make the home feel more “resort-like ”, extensive lush landscaping and walking paths were added, which connected the front area of the home with the waterfront.
The team at Strobel Design Build overcame many obstacles to complete this project. From varying heights of an adjacent roof to adjusting to new pool codes and regulations, our team worked together with the client to ensure the client was left with the home exterior they always dreamed of. Our team is especially proud of Mike for his excellent work on this project. We are happy to have him as a part of the Strobel Design Build team!
